Catifa d’alumini 9x16m

Banyoles, Spain

Dream of a spring night

10th anniversary of Alumilux & Metall-lux workshop. Symposium of architecture, aluminium, steel and glass: RCR Arquitectes conference and catering by Nandu Jubany.

A shower of steel cables has 890 aluminium profiles suspended 2.4 meters above the ground. The aluminium carpet creates a new space inside the warehouse where different projects of other professionals are welded, cut and assembled daily.

The intervention is ephemeral but mutant. At the beginning of the act, the clarity of the day reveals the sculptural nature of the scenery. During the conference and catering, the artificial light embellishes and enhances the aluminium. Finally, at nightfall, LEDs inside each profile illuminate the cocktail and create a 1: 1 scale catalogue for the 200 guests.
